About Me
Welcome. My name is Claus
I’m a psychotherapist trained in Gestalt therapy, working with adults who want to meet their inner life with greater clarity and steadiness. Originally from Denmark, but now also based in Berlin, Germany.
What drew me to this work was a simple observation: that most of us understand ourselves far better than we are free. We can name our patterns, trace them back, explain them with real insight. And yet under pressure, something older and faster takes over. The reaction comes before the choice.
That gap – between what we know and how we actually respond – is where I work. I’m less interested in analysing you from the outside than in understanding with you what is happening right now. In our sessions, we slow down enough to actually look – at the thoughts as they arise, at what the body is carrying, at the emotional responses that often move more quickly than words.
This isn’t a process of self-improvement. Nothing is forced, and nothing needs to be performed. Your pace matters. Your experience is taken seriously. What tends to emerge, over time, is not a new version of you – but a steadier, clearer relationship with who you already are.
This work is not about becoming someone new. It is about relating to yourself differently. From there, clarity naturally shapes how you respond to life.
Education & Training
My professional foundation is in Gestalt therapy, completed at the Nordic Gestalt Institute in Denmark. Over the years I’ve deepened that foundation with training in trauma, attachment, somatic awareness, and emotional regulation. Each has added something real to how I understand the way patterns form and how they gradually shift.
Additional training includes:
- The Healing Trauma Program – Jeffrey Rutstein, Psy.D.
- Search Inside Yourself – Emotional Intelligence Program – SIY Global
- The NeuroAffective Relational Model® (NARM) Introduction – Psychologist Jeanett Bonnichsen
- Somatic Attachment Therapy Certificate – The Embody Lab
- Somatic Experiencing (SE) Introduction – Coherence Trauma Healing
- DARe Level 1: Fundamentals of Attachment Styles – Dr. Diane Poole Heller
While training provides structure, the heart of the work remains simple: a quality of presence that allows experience to be seen clearly, and met honestly.
